Perry students and staff are preparing to help do their part in the fight against cancer during the annual Coaches versus Cancer Night February 7th.
The events will take place the night of the Perry versus Winterset basketball games and spectators from both schools are encouraged to wear white to “Whiteout to Block-Out Cancer”.
The school will be raising money through a variety of fundraisers throughout the evening including a wall of remembrance, the Relay for Life dinner, “jeans days” for school staff” and the sale of special event t-shirts.
Michelle Diw will present her “48 Second Drill” speech between the two games and there will be minutes of silence during the start of both the boys and girls games.
The American Cancer Society will also have an information booth set up and public service announcements will me made throughout the evening.
Everyone is invited to attend and cheer on the Bluejays and Jayettes as they fight against cancer.
