Grants applications are available now for the Jefferson Rotary Club.
Treasurer Lisa Jaskey says they raised $29,520 at their annual fundraiser in November and will be giving away that much money to worthy organizations this year.
They gave $30,000 to 16 organizations and projects last year including building a pavilion for the Thomas Jefferson Gardens, the Scranton Community Center, Adopt-A-Family and $2,000 in scholarships to Greene County High School graduates.
Applications are open to non-profit groups but don’t need to have a 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue Service designation. Jaskey notes that they specifically help those organizations whose programs and projects benefit others in education and literacy, community improvement, youth activities, economic development and community assistance and health.
Jefferson Rotary Club grant applications are available at the Greene County Chamber, ISU Extension office in Jefferson, the Jefferson, Churdan and Paton public libraries, Home State Bank and People’s Trust and Savings Bank locations.
The deadline to apply is by March 15th with the recipients announced in May.
