Guthrie Center High School has released its results from the Iowa Assessment tests that were administered to the school’s 9th through 11th graders this past fall semester.
In reading and science, the percentage of proficient 9th through 11th grade students increased compared to last school year. Reading proficiency increased from 76.7% to 83.6%, while science increased from 79.3% to 82.7%.
However, the percentage of students deemed proficient in math decreased this year. Math proficiency decreased from 87.1% to 83.6%.
When breaking down the test results by grade level, 10th-grade had the highest percentage of students proficient in reading and science. 11th-graders had the highest percentage of students proficient in math at 94.7%.
Guthrie Center students in grades three through eight are currently taking their versions of the Iowa Assessments. The district says those results will be released sometime this spring.
