The Guthrie County Extension & Outreach Office has officially re-opened registration for its “Linking Food with Literacy” course that will be held a week from today, February 6th, at 6:30pm.

The course was originally scheduled for December of last year but had to be postponed.

ISU Extension Health & Nutrition Specialist Holly Van Heel is still slated to lead the course, which will share popular children’s books and food related activities that parents and childcare providers can use with children.

Van Heel says the purpose of the course is to help parents prepare their young children for “academic success by the time they enroll in elementary school.”

Cost for participation in the course is $10 and pre-registration is required.  Those who attend can receive two clock hours of credit for their child care license renewal if such renewal is needed.
