Chad MortonThe annual Greene County High School girl’s basketball pink out game is coming up next week.

Head Coach Chad Morton says this is the fourth year they’ve had a fundraiser to help fight cancer.

He explains the importance for him and his players to understand why they put on fundraisers to support the fight against cancer.

“What cancer is and have known somebody that they know that has maybe survived or lost a life to cancer and what those people go through.  That’s my main concern for me as a coach, for our athletes to understand what it takes to fund-raise and then when you do fund-raise for a cause, how that money is transferred and where that money goes to and the good that it does.”

He adds that they are selling customized “pink-out” t-shirts and bracelets before and during the next home game on Tuesday, January 28th against South Hamilton at the Greene County Middle School gym.

Morton points out that they will also do a “chuck-a-duck” game where fans can purchase plastic ducks before the game and chuck them at a target on the basketball court to win donated gift cards from surrounding area businesses.  He says they will choose an organization to donate all their proceeds later this year.

He will also encouraging everyone to wear pink clothing to that game to show your support for their Pink-Out night.
