The Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday in regular session.
The Supervisors approved several items including the final 145 units for the business tax credits, the county treasurer’s semi-annual report of $15,147,450 for expenses and $16,345,551 in revenue and the investment report for December of $5,483,435 and issuing 248 driver’s licenses.
The Board heard several more county department’s 2015 budget proposals. Conservation estimated a total of $425,333 for both expenses and revenue, the attorney’s office asked for $164,292 to its total budget, treasurer’s office requested $110,100 in revenue and $218,518 in expenses for 2015 and veteran’s affairs estimated a total of $55,545. No action was taken on any of the proposals.
A funding request from Mike Piepel as indigent caretaker was for $1,500 with the Supervisors taking no action on the request.
The Board heard a presentation from Mike Jones with Eye Care Direct in Des Moines about possibly switching to a third party vision insurance carrier for next year but took no action on the topic.
And the Board also heard that workmen’s compensation for county employees will go up 2% this year with an overall increase of $54,000 that the county will have to pay for 2015 estimates for its overall insurance coverage.
