Those who are interested in learning more about the Greene County Community Center and all it has to offer can come and experience everything during its free weekend this weekend.
Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says this Saturday and Sunday everyone can come into the rec center in Jefferson and try out all the equipment or the see the facility and learn more about the different types of programs that are offered for free.
She explains the importance of having a free weekend for people to check them out.
“Well, I think it’s important for people to see what we do offer. Some people, I think, would just like to try it out and see what equipment we do have and if it fits for them and this is kind of making it more public that people can come in and try us out.”
Lautner adds that when you do come in, you can sign up for a free six month membership drawing. Plus, you aren’t required to, but their food drive ends this weekend and you are encouraged to drop off any non-perishable food items to the rec center and all donations will go to the county’s Christian Action Resource Center.
