With an over 1,000 expected jobs to come to Greene County in the next couple of years, housing may be an issue that needs to be addressed.
Economic Development Director Ken Paxton says the Greene County Development Corporation has set up a labor task force and they have gone to every city council in the county and all area realtors to get all available housing to be put on both GCDC’s and the Chamber’s websites for anyone looking to move to the county.
He talks about including individuals who also own property can be added to the housing webpage.
“Anybody who’s got a rental property or a ‘for sale by owner’ or some property they want to lease, sale or rent, please get a hold of us at the Chamber so we can include that on the inventory.”
Paxton believes that if people are needed to fulfill incoming jobs in the county, then they need places to stay in the county and that’s the reason why they’ve set up a webpage to gives all available housing in the area which he hopes to have launched later this month.
