Next month, voters in the Adel DeSoto Minburn school district will be asked to head to the polls and vote Yes or No on a special bond referendum to improve school facilities.
The roughly $13.5 million bond issue will come before voters on Tuesday, February 4th. The bond will not affect property taxes in the district, instead a small amount of the annual statewide sales tax revenue will be used to take care of the small debt service levy rate increase.
In order to pass the referendum needs a super majority of more than 60 percent Yes votes.
Superintendent Greg Dufoe encourages everyone to get out and voice their opinion.
The polls will be open from 7am until 8pm on February 4th. Absentee ballots are now available through the Dallas County Auditor’s office and need to be postmarked by February 3rd.
