The Drought Monitor from the National Climatic Data Center continues to look the same for the Raccoon River Valley area, ranging in severity from abnormally dry to severe drought.
According to the National Weather Service, Perry has received 0.2 inches of precipitation so far this month, 0.11 inches has fallen in Jefferson and Guthrie Center has seen 0.07 inches.
Perry’s average precipitation amount for December is 1.28 inches, Jefferson usually sees about 1.3 inches and Guthrie Center is used to around 1.47 inches.
There’s a slight chance for some snowflakes this evening, otherwise the forecast is mostly dry for the foreseeable future.
