Before this week comes to and end the Greene County varsity wrestlers will have as many as seven matches under their belts. The season for Coach Mark Sawhill’s team began on Tuesday of this week with a win vs. Van Meter/Earlham and a loss to Ogden. Those non-conference meets were held in Ogden. The Rams stay with the non-conference double-dual format tonight in Carroll vs. the Tigers and Winterset at 5:30 p.m. at Carroll High. Dual meet number one has Greene County facing Winterset, the school Coach Sawhill graduated from. Carroll and Winterset meet in the second dual, followed by the Tigers and Rams to wrap up the evening.
The week of wrestling for the Rams continues when Greene County makes it home debut in the middle school gym on Saturday, Dec. 7 by hosting the Ram dual meet tournament. Action Saturday begins at 10 a.m. with the Rams being joined by Estherville-Lincoln Central, Norwalk, and South Central Calhoun (Lake City).
