Everyone is invited to the City of Scranton holiday events going on today.

Co-chair Peggy Hoyt says a variety of area businesses will be having their holiday open houses from 1-5pm along with the Friends of the Scranton Public Library is having a bake sale with all proceeds to benefit the library.

She notes that kids and parents can spend time with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 5-6:30pm at the Congregate Meal site.  Hoyt comments that this is a time for parents to take photos of their kids visiting with Santa and kids can drop off their letters for him or they will have blank letters for the kids to write out their “wish list” for him while they are waiting in line and Santa will respond back to them if they leave their contact information.

There will also be night time entertainment with a soup supper by the United Methodist Church from 5-7pm and the Town and Country Band will perform at the church starting at 7pm and the concert is free to the public.

Hoyt hopes everyone can joy them in celebrating the holiday season in Scranton tonight during their annual event.
