A deputy was advised of an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch on U Avenue just south of 250th Street. A 1993 Ford Ranger pickup truck owned and being driven by Michael Charles McAtee of Grand Junction slid into the ditch due to the icy road conditions. McAtee reported that he was not injured and his vehicle sustained little damage.
The Sheriff investigated a one vehicle accident on 190th Street just west of I Avenue. A 1997 Ford Expedition that is owned and was being driven by Shelly Marie Gilbertson of Scranton was westbound on 190th Street, when due to the icy road conditions, slid into the south ditch causing an estimated $5000 in damages. Gilbertson reported that she was having a private vehicle transport her to the Greene County Medical Center to have her knee evaluated.
The Chief Deputy Sheriff investigated a one vehicle accident in the 1600 block of 305th Street. A 2000 Ford Explorer that is owned and was being driven by Susan Dyann Howell of Jamaica, Iowa, sustained an estimated $2000 in damages when the vehicle slid into the ditch due to icing on the roadway. Howell was not injured in the accident.
The Chief Deputy Sheriff returning from the previous call discovered a vehicle that had slid into the ditch on Neola Avenue and 270th Street. There was no visible damage to the vehicle and it was unoccupied at the time.
Two Greene County Deputy’s assisted a Carroll County Deputy with investigating the reported theft of three dogs from a residence in Ralston. The dogs were located in Scranton and returned to the owner.
A deputy is investigating a harassment complaint in Churdan.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
