Through the first two games of the girls’ high school basketball season the Greene County Rams have been able to hold their opponents’ field goal percentage to just over 20 percent, which has helped the girls start with two victories. Greene County was a 49-44 winner over Saydel (Des Moines) on Nov. 26 before downing Roland-Story (Story City) 46-32 on Dec. 3. Both games were in Jefferson and the Rams go on the road for the first time on Friday, Dec. 6 to Monroe to face PCM in the longest road trip of the season. The Mustangs are 1-2 overall and 1-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play while the Rams are 2-0 in the league. PCM was ranked number 14 in Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union preseason poll in Class 3A. The Rams will be trying to hold an opponent to a low shooting percentage while being on the other teams’ gym for the first time this season. PCM averages 51 points per game and shoots just under 33% from the floor so far this season.
