Aside from releasing its 2014 spring certified handlers training course schedule earlier this week, the Guthrie County Extension Office also has a private pesticide applicator training course for local farmers who might need recertification in 2014.

The Office will be offering the private course on Tuesday, February 4th at 1:30pm in the Guthrie Center Activity Center.  There is a fee of $20.

To become a certified applicator initially, you must take an exam offered by the Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship (IDALS).  Then, to renew that certification you must pass a certification test every three years, or you must attend a private applicators’ continuing instruction course each of the three years during your renewal cycle.
