If Monday night was any indication of what to expect from the Perry boys basketball team, Bluejay fans should be pretty excited. Five different players struck double figures with sophomore Shammond Ivory leading the way with 17 points. “Shammond loves the sport, said Perry Head Coach Ned Menke, “he has really developed from his freshman to sophomore year. He is more of an explosive player this year who is playing closer to the rim. He has worked his way into a large amount of growth with speed, quickness and agility and has really taken it to the next level. He will be a tough matchup for everyone we play.”
Ivory and point guard Will Whiton appeared to be on the same page Monday night with the junior Whiton finding Ivory on a number of easy baskets. Perry will host Carlisle Friday night in the conference opener at 6:00 with the girls tipoff.
