The ADM volleyball team’s spectacular season and postseason run ended last night in the regional final, as the Tigers were swept by the highly-ranked Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks in three sets.
Waverly-Shell Rock won in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-21 and 25-12 respectively.
The Tigers were led offensively in their final match of the season by departing senior Allison Gottschalk, who collected 11 kills. Another departing senior, Torrie Hook, led ADM in the digs department, finishing with 20 of them. Hook also contributed six kills for the Tigers.
ADM finishes the 2013 season with a 25-13 overall record, but most importantly, the Tigers will hang their hat on being champions of the Raccoon River Conference for an entire calendar year.
As for the Go-Hawks, the Region 4 champions move on to play in the Class 4-A quarterfinals next Tuesday in Cedar Rapids.
