A reminder to Guthrie Center residents, the Guthrie Center Fire Department is having its 15th Annual Casino Night Fundraiser tomorrow from 7pm to 1am at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds Community Building.
Jason Carroll, a 15-year member of GC Fire and this year’s event organizer, says this is one of the department’s biggest fundraisers of the year, and he hopes local residents will come out and show their support.
The night will feature all types of games including bingo, roulette, blackjack, and craps. There will also be silent auctions running and prizes for people to win throughout the event.
Carroll says the night typically draws a great community crowd.
“We have a lot of regulars show up every year that look forward to this event. The crowd seems to change every year (too). The building is always full and it seems like we never have enough room.”
The proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will go toward purchasing new safety and extrication equipment for the department. Fire Chief Doug Kent says some funds will also likely be used to complete the construction of the new fire hall which they hope to have completed by the end of the year.
Even if local residents are unable to attend Casino Night tomorrow, those wishing to make a tax deductible donation still can–just send your checks to the Guthrie Center Fire Department.
