ADMEven though it’s unlikely ADM’s boys and girls cross country runners will qualify collectively as teams for the state meet during their district run tomorrow, that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible.

Head coach David Zwank has said expectations will be high for his top runners, Josh Berger and Brianna Mueller, but don’t discount the teams themselves… because with postseason competition, anything can happen.

“Based on previous performances, we would be a far shot from being able to get either one of the teams through, but we’ve talked about this season, the end result of the season for every individual is to try and get that best performance out of them at the end of the season.  So whether it was the conference meet for a JV kid or Thursday’s state qualifying meet for a varsity kid we kind of want to get that best performance out them through all the efforts that we’ve put in in terms of our training, our plan and everything else that we’ve done.”

In order to qualify for state, the Tigers’ boys and girls teams will have finish in the top 3 of the district meet tomorrow in Winterset.  With five 3-A district meets happening across Iowa tomorrow, 15 teams will punch their ticket to the state meet in Fort Dodge.

That state title run is currently slated for Saturday, November 2nd at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.  Any state qualifiers for ADM would take off at noon.
