The Iowa Community Action Association, in partnership with AmeriCorps are looking for young leaders to help make a difference in the Perry community.
Public Allies Iowa Americorp is launching this month with twenty-five members across the state in its first class, three of which in Perry.
Public Allies is a national non-profit organization that mentors young adults who have the ambition to help make positive changes in their communities. Those selected to be part of the program will take part in a 10 month, full time apprenticeship where they will work on team projects and work to help improve poverty, public health, at-risk youth, housing, education and other areas as they prepare for a career in non-profit and public sector work.
Applications are now being accepted for members to work with the Perry Community School District, the DMACC VanKirk Career Academy and the Fullhart/Carnegie Trust.
