It’s National Friends of Libraries Week and the Jefferson Public Library would like to invite everyone to help support your local library.
Friends of the Jefferson Library President Barb Labate says since the group started 20 years ago, they’ve raised $106,000 which every dollar goes back to the library. For this week only, Labate states that everything that was bought with the Friends funds, will be displayed in the library to give recognition of what the Friends has done to help enhance the attributes of the library.
In conjunction with National Friends of Libraries Week, it is always the Jefferson Friends membership drive. Labate adds that from now until the end of the month, anyone who signs up to become a Friend of the Jefferson Library or is a current member, will have their names entered into a drawing. The winner will select a book to have dedicated to themselves or a loved one.
Memberships start at $5, but Labate points out that it’s a matter of how much anyone is willing to donate to help continue to purchase items for the library.
Call or stop by the library for more information.
