Everyone is invited to the Greene County Chamber’s annual “Trick-Or-Treat Around the Square” this Thursday.
Chris Henning with the chamber says most of the retailers around the downtown square in Jefferson will be handing out candy and adds that the Greene County Community Center and the library are also doing events that evening.
“The retailers all will be out with their candy buckets and some maybe in costume as well. The rec center has kids zumba, pumpkin bowling, facepainting, other games and after trick-or-treat on the square, at the library, there’s a theme ‘trick-or-treat’ party too. So you can go (to) three places, all free, and lots of fun activities on the 24th.”
“Trick-Or-Treat Around the Square” is from 5-6pm and no registration is required. Last year, about 400 kids dressed up and participated in the annual event.
Any business wishing to be a part of the fun, including surrounding companies can participate on the courthouse side of the square and must sign up by calling the chamber office at 386-2155.
