A Nebraska woman was arrested in Stuart Sunday after registering a blood alcohol level of nearly three and a half times the legal driving limit.

The Stuart Police pulled over 45 year-old Melissa Ruge of Decatur, Nebraska around 6pm Sunday.  Officers located her vehicle near the Stuart exit off Interstate 80 after several motorists called in complaining about her erratic driving and potential accident close calls.

Adair County Sheriff Brad Newton says preliminary alcohol screening tests showed Ruge had a blood alcohol level of 0.27, well above the legal driving limit of 0.08.

Ruge was charged with OWI first offense and booked into the Adair County Jail.  She has since been released after posting a $1,000 bond.
