A reminder to Lake Panorama residents, hydrant flushing begins today and will continue over the next two weeks.
Cloudy or dark colored water can be expected as the flushing removes sediments that have accumulated due to the high mineral content of the lake. Low water pressure may also occur at times.
The Association asks that residents use caution when doing laundry over the next couple weeks to avoid possible staining or discoloration of clothing.
Members with in-line cartridge filters in their homes should have good water quality during flushing, but those may need to be replaced if pressure becomes consistently low.
Association Administrative Assistant Randy Holl says hydrant flushing is typically done two or three times at the year, and it’s done to both improve the lake’s water quality and test the water pipes and valves leading out from the lake to make sure they remain effective.
Hydrants will likely be flushed again in March of next year.
