There are Halloween activities aplenty to be found throughout Guthrie County in the next couple of weeks, and one of those events includes Saturday’s Fall Festival in Guthrie Center.
Chamber of Commerce member Kris Arrasmith is the festival’s head organizer this year, and she says the event will include an inflatable jumphouse, hay rides and games. There will also be a crafts workshop for the kids put on by Guthrie County Hospital Pediatrics.
Arrasmith says the attendance for Fall Festival has improved in recent years, and she sees it as an event that allows for the continued growth of a downtown Guthrie Center area that is in the midst of much revitalization.
“The more you can get people to come to town and spend a little time, maybe spend a little money, and bring their kids with them. Because the kids definitely are what’s gonna keep our town alive, then the more involved they’re going to be on keeping this community vibrant, wanting it to move forward, wanting to see things grow and wanting to see that hustle and bustle that every small town needs to stay on the map,” Arrasmith says.
The festival will run from 11am to 1pm Saturday, and there will be hamburger lunches available for $3.50, but aside from that, all the activities are free.
