All Greene County businesses and entrepreneurs are invited to the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Expo on Saturday in Jefferson.

Extension Coordinator Michael Cooley says the day will be filled with information on how to start up a business and what it takes to keep it going in today’s economy.

There will be breakout sessions with guest speakers in the morning, followed by a catered lunch with a keynote speaker and the afternoon will feature roundtable discussions to better understand the ins and outs of today’s businesses.

Cooley comments that the featured speaker is Nick Westergaard, founder of Brand Driven Digital in Iowa City.  He explains what Westergaard will be talking about during lunch portion of the event.

“And Nick’s whole point is that your brand is really what identifies you and what your consumers identify you as.  And so, working on making sure that the brand that you are delivering is the brand you want people to see you as.  And he also works a lot with social media and marketing and that type of thing.”

The event will be at the St. Joseph’s Parish Center in Jefferson on Saturday from 9am-3pm.  Early registration has been extended to Thursday with a $15 fee and after that it will be $20.  To reserve your spot, contact the extension office at 386-2138.
