ADMWith ADM’s boys and girls cross country teams running in the Class 3-A district meet at Winterset this Thursday, there will be high expectations for the Tigers’ top runners.

Josh Berger and Brianna Mueller have been spectacular this season, having finished in the top-10 in seemingly every race to this point.  And since neither of ADM’s teams are likely to qualify for the state meet, coach David Zwank says Berger and Mueller will have to qualify individually if the Tigers want to be represented at the season’s final meet.

Zwank hopes they can pull it off.

“I hate to use the work expect… I think that they have a tough challenge when I look at those teams, those individuals that are going to be at that meet.  We can’t just say, ‘show up and you’ll move on to the next thing’.  But if they go and they compete like they have been, they’ll have some very good chances.  That’s the fun of competition, of high school athletics is going out and enjoying that experience.”

Some of the top competition in ADM’s district include Ballard, Creston, Dallas Center-Grimes, Harlan and Saydel.

Thursday’s meet in Winterset begins at 4pm.
