The ADM Tigers dropped to 4-4 on the season and 3-2 in district play with their 13-6 loss to the rival Perry Bluejays on the road last night.
ADM jumped out to a 6-o lead on two field goals from kicker Jacob Hutzell in the first quarter, but after the first 12 minutes of action, there wasn’t a whole lot of yards to be found for the Tigers.
While Perry’s defense slowed down the Grant Goeden-led ADM rushing attack and held Kolby Whisner to just 136 yards passing, it was the Tigers who were their own worst enemy Friday night.
ADM was penalized 9 times for 90 yards in the game, many of them coming at crucial times when the offense had just started moving the football. Ultimately, the momentum-killing personal foul penalties in the 4th quarter cost the Tigers the game.
The loss to Perry marks the first all season that ADM has lost back-to-back games. Head coach Mike Whisner and company will have to regroup and refocus quickly because the 5th-ranked Harlan Cyclones visit Adel next Friday in the final game of the regular season.
As always, we’ll have coverage beginning at 7 o’clock this Friday on 107.9FM, KKRF. Kick-off will follow at 7:30.
