RVP-1875 and History Boy Theater Company is named as this year’s rural outstanding tourism business by the Iowa Tourism Office and Travel Federation of Iowa at their annual conference in Waterloo last night.

RVP-1875 is an old-fashioned furniture making company that not only handmakes all of its furniture but uses recipes from the 1800’s.  Co-Owners Robby and Angie Pederson also give tours to groups of people who visit Jefferson on a tourism basis and in 2009, added on their own theater company, the History Boy Theater.

Since then, most of their shows are sold out and the purpose of why they wanted to start their own theater company was to bring professional-quality theater of the bigger cities to small towns.

The local-owned business was honored along with others in categories ranging from outstanding promotional material to outstanding tourism experience in both rural and metro settings.
