Anyone wishing to get rid of unwanted or expired prescription drugs may bring them to the Greene County Sheriff’s office on Saturday, October 26th 10am-2pm.

Sheriff Steve Haupert says this is the seventh time in three years that the county is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Agency to dispose of anyone’s prescription medications through the Drug Take Back Initiative.

He explains that the Law Enforcement Center accepts old and unwanted prescription drugs throughout the year and describes the procedure in which he and his deputies follow.

“We have a lock down facility that we can take and put those in and tell which time the narcotics division comes and picks them up.”

He urges everyone to participate in the Drug Take Back Initiative next Saturday from 10am-2pm.  Anyone with questions can call the LEC at 386-2136.
