Monday, September 23rd

A deputy was dispatched to the 1000 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction for a reported  fight in progress. A Jefferson Police Officer also assisted with the call. Subsequently arrested at the scene was Johnathan Leonard Beavers of Grand Junction for Public Intoxication.

Two deputies responded to the report of several male subjects trespassing into a house on Eagle Street in Scranton. It was determined that the subjects in question were looking to purchase the property.

Tuesday, September 24th

A deputy was advised of a burglary and theft of personal property from a farm building site in the 100 block of J Avenue. The theft is under investigation at this time by the Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy was advised of the strong odor of anhydrous ammonia coming from the area around the Heartland Cooperative in Rippey. A Heartland Cooperative employee was called to check the anhydrous tanks for possible leaks.

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a traffic stop and the subsequent arrest of Brandon Thomas Gobble of Jefferson for driving while barred.

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department in checking an alarm activation at the Kum and Go in Jefferson. Everything was found to be in order.

Wednesday, September 25th

A deputy was dispatched to the Union Pacific Railroad Trestle Bridge on Jordan Avenue for the report of a vehicle trespassing and abandoned on railroad property. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

A deputy was asked to check to determine the owner of a flatbed trailer that had experienced mechanical problems and was abandoned at the Sparky’s One Stop in Churdan.  The owner was located and called to remove the trailer as soon as possible.

A deputy was advised by a Grand Junction resident that she had received a suspicious and possibly threatening letter. The deputy did determine the author of the correspondence and he was contacted by the deputy about the ramifications of his actions.

A deputy is investigating a harassment complaint from a resident in Scranton.

A deputy is investigating the reported assault and theft of personal property from a youth that was on the school playground in Grand Junction.

Thursday, September 26th

A deputy was dispatched and assisted a motorist that was experiencing mechanical problems with his transport van on Highway 30 (220th Street) at F Avenue.

A deputy was advised of criminal mischief to newly poured concrete in Churdan. The concrete had profanity etched into its surface after the work crew had departed Churdan.

A deputy was dispatched to a verbal altercation between a husband and wife in Grand Junction. The deputy helped all involved reach an amicable resolution.

A deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of South Wise Street in Paton for a reported burglary and theft of personal property from a vacant house.

A deputy was dispatched to Scranton to intervene in a civil matter concerning items being sold on Craigslist.

A deputy assisted a Grand Junction resident that was accidentally locked out of her home.

A deputy was dispatched to Scranton to remove an opossum from a live trap.

A deputy checked the report of a suspicious person in the 1200 block of 230th Street. It was later determined that the male in question had run out of fuel and was being transported to a gas station.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
