When Greene County travels to Red Oak on Friday night for a Class 2A District 8 football game the Rams are likely to face a team that wants to run the ball. The Tigers (1-2, 1-0) ran the ball 66 times and threw it just three last Friday night when they won 20-7 at Ida Grove vs. OABCIG. Nearly all the Tigers’ yardage (265) came on the ground. Greene County head coach Dean Lansman said the Rams have been coming around defensively against the run. “I thought we played very good run defense last week (a 19-15 loss to Shenandoah). If we keep improving, we’ll be tough to run the ball against.”
Game time is 7 p.m. with coverage at 6 p.m. on KG98. The Rams will be trying to stop a five-game losing streak dating back to last season. Red Oak will be trying for consecutive wins for one of the few times in the last decade.
