Tuesday, September 17th
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was asked to check a residence in the 2400 block of P Avenue concerning the safety of family members.
A deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of M Avenue for a reported family dispute. The deputy helped resolve the dispute to everyone’s satisfaction.
A deputy was asked to perform a welfare and medical check on a Grand Junction resident living in the 800 block Percival Street. The Grand Junction Fire and Rescue was also dispatched to that address to transport a male patient to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room for further evaluation.
Wednesday, September 18th
A deputy was dispatched to Rippey for a down electrical power line across Highway 144 due to a wind storm that had just occurred. A 2007 Freightliner semi-tractor trailer that is owned by Crawford Trucking Inc. of Des Moines, Iowa, and was driven by Gary Ray Devilbiss of Perry sustained minor damage when he did not see the low hanging line and drove under the power line. Damage was estimated to be less than $1,000. Alliant Energy was called to repair the power line.
A deputy checked the report of a tree on the roadway at 280th Street just west of W Avenue. Greene County Secondary Roads was advised of the fallen tree due to the wind storm.
A deputy was advised of illegal dumping of trash in Henderson Park. The deputy talked with the persons believed to be responsible for the dumping and advised them that citations will be issued.
A deputy was asked to check for a stray Black Labrador Retriever that was reported on Highway 25 at 250th Street. The deputy was not able to locate the dog upon his arrival.
The Chief Deputy Sheriff was given the responsibility of removing a very large bull snake from a residence in the 900 block of Main Street in Scranton. The snake was reported to have been carefully placed in a pillowcase and transported to a rural area.
A deputy was advised of a traffic sign that had been knocked off of its post in Grand Junction.
A deputy was dispatched to Churdan for the report of a red Jeep soft top that was driving erratically around Churdan knocking over trash cans. The deputy was not able to locate the Jeep upon his arrival but was furnished with a good description of the vehicle and driver.
A deputy was asked to perform a welfare check on a distraught female living in Grand Junction. The female did return to her home and was found to be alright.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
