ADMADM welcomes another district opponent, the unbeaten Creston Panthers, to town tomorrow night in game four of the 2013 season.

Creston head coach Brian Morrison says there isn’t anything exceptionally unique or impressive about his football team, but that’s what makes them so good.  The Panthers are solid everywhere on the field, featuring an offense that likes to spread the wealth and a defense that is allowing under 15 points per game.

The Panthers do have one player whose presence ADM will have to be wary of Friday night: that’s first-team all-state linebacker Trevor Frain.

Frain is currently third in Class 3-A in total tackles, and Morrison says his star linebacker is the foundation of the Panthers stout defense.

“In 3-A football very seldom do you have a four-year starter and he will be a four-year starter for us when it’s all said and done.  He’s legit–you see some of the tackles.  We don’t blitz a lot our defense, and when you see his stats as far as tackles for losses–he had 17 last year and he’s going to surpass that this year.  He just does an outstanding job running downhill, he’s aggressive and he really does have a nose for the football.”

Frain gave ADM some trouble in the Tigers’ 34-19 win a season ago, recording 16 tackles and three solo tackles for loss.

Morrison doesn’t expect things to be that easy for Frain and his defense Friday night, because he’s facing a Tigers team he knows features a talented offensive arsenal.

“We’ll show different fronts up front, different looks and different coverages.  That will be really important this week because Adel’s coaching staff does an outstanding job as far as organizing what they do offensively to really attack the defense.”

Will Kolby Whisner be able to move ADM’s attacking offense down the field for touchdowns, or will Trevor Frain and the Creston defense prove to be too tough?

We’ll find out tomorrow night.  Tune in to 107.9 FM, KKRF, for pregame at 7 and kick-off at 7:30.
