The Greene County Medical Center Foundation recently held it’s annual golf tournament to raise funds to purchase medical equipment.
Director Hollie Roberts says there were 22 teams who competed and an estimated $10,000 was raised at the event. There were three flights with Iowa Central Community College, HGA Architects and Unity Point Health-Des Moines winning their respective flights.
She states that this year’s amount of money raised is much better than it has been in past years.
Something new that was added to this year’s golf tournament was a raffle. Roberts comments that Howie Drees of Carroll won a pair of Iowa vs Iowa State football tickets, Dr. Jeff Wahl of Jefferson won a personalized autographed Iowa Hawkeye football from head coach Kirk Ferentz and Chuck Hane also of Jefferson won an autographed Iowa State football from head coach Paul Rhoads.
Roberts notes that they will several other public fundraisers left this year. Upcoming events are a two-day book sale at the public health classroom on October 17th and 18th, a two-day jewelry sale in November and the Tree of Life event in December.
