August accident totals in Greene County show higher than normal numbers.

Sheriff Steve Haupert says there were 19 vehicle accidents for the month of August that he and his deputies handled in the county.

Of those 19 accidents, six were one-vehicle rollover accidents, mainly on rural gravel roads, and of those six, two were alcohol-related and one was considered a car/deer accident.

The other 13 accidents weren’t rollovers and included other incidents like one case was a vehicle fire and another was alcohol-related.

Sheriff Haupert states that these numbers are a lot higher than normal, but is thankful that no one was seriously hurt in any of the accidents.
