The Adair County Corn and Soybean Association is holding its 17th annual field day this Thursday beginning at 6pm.
Attendees will tour the corn and soybean test plots at the Gene Buckmiller farm, which is 30 minutes south of Stuart just outside of Orient.
A pork loin dinner will be served at 6pm with a walking tour to follow at 7. Participants will get a look at the 33 corn and 30 soybean varieties on hand, with representatives there to discuss each crop.
Event organizer Brian Rohrig says the field day is unique because each seed company is brought in to talk about their respective entry. Rohrig says this is seldomly seen in other field days across the state.
Participation in the event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
