Potential Jefferson City Council candidates are encouraged to come to an informational panel discussion on September 5th at the Greene County Community Center.

Districts one and three and one “at large” are up for the November election.

Mayor Pro Tem Shannon Black will be one of the panelists and describes one of the most important topics that they discuss with candidates.

“I think a lot of people want to know what the time commitment is that the city council members put into their (4-year) term.  And responsibilities, we go over the different committees that city council members are part of as part of being on the city council.”

Black also sits on the cemetery and parks and recreation boards along with her responsibility as Mayor Pro Tem.

The one-hour workshop will also cover the overview of the Jefferson City government structure and current City projects.

The meeting will be at 6pm on Thursday, September 5th.
