The countdown clock on ADM football’s offseason has officially run out. Tonight is game one of the 2013 season, as the Tigers kick-off at 7 o’clock against longtime rival Dallas Center Grimes.
Even though Head Coach Mike Whisner’s team returns only five starters from last year’s 6-4 squad, his expectations for the season ahead haven’t changed at all.
“My expectation is to win the district, and you know, get to the dome. Just like we have every year these last six or seven years, it’s something that we strive for every year and most of the time it’s been different kids. There’s a lot of variables, gotta be healthy when it counts toward the end of the year. We set that as a standard and that’s our expectation. You know you go from there.”
ADM has made the district playoffs five consecutive years and in six of the last seven seasons under Whisner, who enters his 22nd season at helm of the program.
Tune in to 107.9 FM, KKRF tonight at 7 o’clock to see if the Tigers can start the season off with a win against the rival Mustangs.
