Greene County road patching projects are nearing the end as summer starts to wind down.

County Engineer Wade Weiss says the northeast part of county has had the most work done to it and it is nearly complete.  This week, Weiss says the contracted road crew will be doing a pavement grinding project on County Road P-29 north of US Highway 4.

He talks about the project and why they chose to do that road.

“We’re going to be grinding that pavement to smooth that pavement as a pavement preservation project to try and get some of the bumps out of the road that have caused deterioration.”

Weiss points out that they will also overhaul the shoulders along that road.

The last major road maintenance project is slated around September 9th when asphalt will be put down on County Road P-46 north of County Road E-18, east of Dana.

Other minor projects will include what Weiss calls blowouts occurring in dry weather and one road of concern that will get some repair is on old Highway 30 between Jefferson and Grand Junction.
