The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors meet again today in the second of their bi-weekly meetings.
Sheriff Marty Arganbright will begin the meeting at 9am by giving the Board his monthly sheriff’s office update. The office has been busy of late, having to deal with three motor vehicle accidents and a house fire emergency in Stuart in the last two weeks alone.
Guthrie County’s Mental Health Coordinator Diane Jackson will then give the Board a mental health regionalization update, after postponing her scheduled appearance on Tuesday.
The mental health department of Greene, Guthrie and Audubon counties regionalized with Dallas and Warren counties back in March, after the Iowa legislature made known its hope to equalize services across Iowa.
Guthrie County was due to receive just under $123,000 in mental health funding after the House passed a bill for transition dollars of $11.6 million to be dispersed among 26 counties across Iowa.
The Board of Supervisors meet each Tuesday and Thursday in the Guthrie County Courthouse at 9am.
