The final Greene County 4-H results have been released from the Iowa State Fair.

ISU Extension Youth and Families Coordinator Sarah Jo Reynolds says there were 42 4-H participants who received ribbons and placements for their livestock and static exhibits.  There were 11 red, 67 blue and 22 purple ribbons earned by the 4-H’ers.

Some of the livestock champions and reserve champion awards went to Mason Burkett from Grand Junction who earned a reserve champion in intermediate sheep showmanship and Bailey Godwin also from Grand Junction received a reserve champion for her non-fitted hampshire lamb.

One of the last days of the state fair are the dog competitions and a few 4-H’ers received some top honors.  Noelle Gray of Jefferson earned a champion selection in the graduate novice A obedience dog category and a a reserve champion in senior handler dog division and Elizabeth Gunn also of Jefferson was awarded champion of the sub-novice obedience category.

Extension Coordinator Michael Cooley wants to remind all 4-H’ers that starting next month, you can re-enroll for the upcoming 4-H year.
