Friday, July 19th
A deputy checked on a motorist that was experiencing mechanical problems with his car at 140th Street and D Avenue.
A deputy was advised of a theft of wire and steel from a farm residence in the 2000 block of 100th Street. The theft is under investigation at this time.
A deputy checked a vehicle that was parked along the roadway at 220th Street J Avenue.
Saturday, July 20th
A deputy assisted the Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel with an ambulance call at the Trestle Bridge, 2.5 mile south of Jefferson on the bike trail. A bicyclist was transported to the Greene County Medical Center with heat exhaustion.
A deputy was dispatched to Spring Lake Park to assist the parks personnel in determining the identity and validity of a person driving in the park.
A deputy was advised of several male subjects soliciting for work in the 1200 block of 245th Street. The vehicle was not located upon the deputy’s arrival.
A deputy was advised of a possible drunk driver leaving the Bagley, Iowa, area and possibly entering Greene or Dallas Counties. The vehicle was not found in Greene County at that time.
Sunday, July 21st
A deputy was dispatched to Scranton for the report of an intoxicated male lying on the ground. The deputy subsequently arrested William John Becker of Scranton, Iowa, for public intoxication.
A deputy was advised of a runaway youth from the Dana area. Several locations were checked by the deputy but the youth was not located at that time.
A deputy was advised of littering at Blacks Pits west of Jefferson near the Raccoon River Bridge.
A deputy assisted a motorist with a flat tire on a vehicle at U Avenue and 185th Street.
A deputy assisted a Grand Junction resident in finding a vehicle that was loaned to another person earlier in the day.
A deputy was advised of a careless and erratic driver on 220th Street near Grand Junction. The vehicle was stopped and the deputy expressed his concern about the careless driving complaint to the driver.
A deputy checked the identity of a youth that was walking near the school in Grand Junction.
A deputy was dispatched to the Squirrel Hollow Park area for the report of criminal mischief to a vehicle and theft of personal property from that car. A side window was broken out of the car to gain access. The theft is under investigation at this time.
A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department in finding a stolen vehicle that was taken from the 100 block of Grimmell Road.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
