The Cyclists of Greene invites the public to its next full moon bike ride tonight.
Organizer Chuck Offenburger says anyone wishing to join should meet at the Jefferson Depot, by the Raccoon River Valley Trailhead around 7:30pm with the group to leave around 8pm.
The majority of the eight-mile trip down to Cooper will be in the twilight with the ride back to Jefferson being under the brightness of the full moon.
He explains why they try to have the bike rides on the weekends.
“With the full moons, they usually hang on for two to three days, so we try to push these towards the weekends. And then, we’ll put out notices, we’ve got a facebook page with the cyclists of greene and we’ll always have notices on there about when these full moon rides are.”
The free event concludes with refreshments at the Jefferson Depot. Anyone with questions can call Offenburger at 515-370-2659.
