The Jefferson Public Library invites the public for a special presentation by local author Patrick Phillips-Schrock.

Phillips-Schrock will be discussing his recently published book called “The Architecture of the White House”.  He is a 1969 graduate of Jefferson High School and a professor of American History and French at the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Ankeny.

Library Director Jane Millard says Phillips-Schrock will be speaking from 2-3:30pm on Saturday  in the library meeting room.  He will be showing several slides depicting how the White House has changed over the years both to the interior and exterior of the structure.

Millard comments that she’s excited to welcome back a hometown name and many people remember Patrick’s parents, his father Vince, who owned a local barbershop and his mother Anges who was an elementary teacher in Jefferson.
