The ADM Tigers won easily in the first round of districts tonight over Perry 8-0 in baseball action.
ADM scored eight runs off 11 hits while committing four errors on defense and left seven runners on base. For Perry, they had zero runs with one hit with two fielding errors and stranded six runners.
ADM scored its first four runs in the top of the second inning as Dylan Nelson delivered a bases-clearing, three RBI double. The Tigers put another run on the board in fifth and added three more in the seventh to finish off Perry.
The Bluejays starter, sophomore southpaw Wil Whiton went five innings, giving up eight hits for five runs while striking out five. Perry was led in offense by senior Levi Halling who went one-for-three with a single.
The Tigers senior starter, Dylan Nelson, threw a one-hit shutout in seven innings allowing one walk and striking out 12 Bluejay batters. Nelson performed well on offense with a three-for-four effort with a double and three RBI’s.

“He came really focused tonight, probably the best focus I’ve seen him have all year and he stepped up big tonight for us. He threw a great game and kept them off base and kind of got the momentum going for us.”
Perry finishes its season at 17-17 while the Tigers will move on to the district finals on Monday in Adel against the Nevada Cubs who beat Gilbert tonight 5-2.
