RAGBRAI is almost here and you need to be prepared for the event on July 22nd.
Guthrie Center Mayor Dennis Kunkle says, “I want to remind everyone that unfortunately our State or Main Street is gonna be kind of a mess that day. It’s gonna be mainly blocked off, so anybody that needs to come to town to get a few things may need to use their back doors because State Street will be blocked off with bikes and so on. So there is going to be a little inconvenience but I think everybody should enjoy the crowd being around.”
There will be over 30 vendors set up in Mitchell Park and three bike shops will be set up in the parking lot of the Aquatic Center in Guthrie.
Just a reminder that if you would like to help during RAGBRAI you are invited to come to a meeting tonight at 6:30 pm at the city clerk’s office.
It is going to be a fun day but we want it to be a safe one also.
The University of Iowa will have a medical mobile unit set up to help take care of any injuries.
When you come into town you will need to go left or right at the intersection at State Street, to help avoid the bike traffic.
Kunkle says RAGBRAI is an opportunity for residents to volunteer and show the town’s hospitality.
