The Jefferson City Council met last night in regular session.
The Council approved paying $29,369.25 to Sandstone Management for 61% project completion at the Greene County Development Park #1 south of Syngenta.
The Council also approved an amendment to City Administrator Mike Palmer’s employment agreement and a three-year contract labor agreement with the City of Jefferson and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees was approved.
There was discussion about closing Pinet Street intersection with the Union Pacific Railroad. Palmer says Union Pacific and the Iowa Department of Transportation have talked about paying the City about $22,000 to close the intersection and the City to provide barricades. The Council gave permission to enter an agreement to begin the process of closing the intersection permanently.
The public hearing for the development agreement with Hy-Vee was delayed to a special meeting next Tuesday at 4pm due to the announcement not being published
