The City of Stuart might look a little different in the future, if they are approved for the Revitalization grant. This facade (FA-SOD) improvement would bring a little more life to Stuart and their businesses.
Secretary of the White Pole Road Development Corporation, Tom Smull says, the City of Stuart applied for this grant through the help of the Region Twelve Council of Governments.
This grant will cover nearly $500,000; worth of restoration, which would cover most of the cost, and there are thoughts of applying for a historic tax credit to help with the rest of costs, while some funding might come from the business owners.
Smull says, they made it through round one of discussions, so signs could be pointing up; with a decision coming about later this spring or early this summer.
When applying for this grant they had to take pictures of all the buildings that needed improvements, while working with an architect to get quotes to send in.
