The Stuart Police Department had their hands full this week, literally, as they recovered more than 50 drug paraphernalia items from a local hotel room.
Marijuana and paraphernalia were located in a male suspect’s room and vehicle after a K-9 officer detected the presence of narcotics at the Super 8 Motel.
Stuart Police Chief David Reha says the incident was “extremely strange, the average drug user doesn’t carry that much with them.”
Chief Reha says it’s great to get it off the streets, “whether you’re here for one night, like this guy was, it still impacts our community and I’m just glad to see that our officers were proactive in their job.”
Chief Reha says the current group of officers at the Stuart Police Department, have made an outstanding change in the community, “it makes me very proud to work with and be around this group guys, who are so dedicated to making a difference.”
The chief also says that the Stuart Police Department is trying to make a difference in this community, and he believes they have.
